잉글리시 프리미어리그의 명문팀이자 지난 시즌 카라바오컵 우승팀인 뉴캐슬 유나이티드가, 1892년 창단 이래 처음으로 역사적인 내한을 합니다. 서울월드컵경기장에서 열리는 뉴캐슬과 토트넘의 친선경기 전날인 8월 1일 금요일 오후, 서울 마포구에서 뉴캐슬 유나이티드가 주최하는 공식 팬 이벤트에 시나몬잼이 초청을 받아 공연하게 되었습니다. “축구와 음악은 치킨과 맥주의 관계와 같다”는 말이 있듯, 축구와 음악이 어우러지고, 대구와 뉴캐슬 두 도시의 문화가 만나는 멋진 하루가 될 것 같습니다. 뉴캐슬은 시나몬잼의 기타리스트 아론(Aaron French)의 고향이자, 그가 태어날 때부터 응원해온 팀이기에 이번 무대는 더욱 뜻깊습니다. 열심히 준비해서, 전 세계에서 서울로 모일 뉴캐슬 서포터 여러분께 대구 인디음악의 매력을 전해드리고 오겠습니다! Newcastle United, one of the traditional giants of the English Premier League and winners of last season’s Carabao Cup, will be making a historic first visit to South Korea since the club’s founding in 1892. On Friday 1st August, the day before their friendly match against Tottenham at Seoul World Cup Stadium, the club will be hosting an official fan event in Mapo-gu, Seoul — and Cinnamon Jam has been invited to perform. There’s a saying that “football and music go together like chicken and beer”, and this event will be a perfect example of that. It’s set to be a fantastic day where football meets music, and the cultures of Daegu and Newcastle come together. Newcastle is also the hometown of Cinnamon Jam’s guitarist, Aaron French, who has supported the Magpies since birth — making this moment all the more special. We’re working hard to put on a great show and share the spirit of Daegu’s indie music scene with Newcastle supporters gathering in Seoul from across the globe!
